Professional Sales Representative
The Professional Sales Representative is responsible for promoting approved Vertical products to physicians and other specialized medical or healthcare providers (HCPs). The Professional Sales Representative manages his/her territory through comprehensive targeting, strategic planning, and effective clinical messaging in order to maintain and maximize sales of Vertical products. As a member of the sales team, this position works closely with the District Manager, fellow Sales Representatives and other colleagues throughout the Commercial organization to achieve territory, district and corporate objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Achieve quarterly sales goals specific to assigned territory and product portfolio
Build and enhance HCP awareness of assigned products, including clinical data, safety and efficacy
Perform HCP calls and all related position activities in a highly effective and professional manner
Effectively develop and manage territory business plans (targeting, routing, customer segmentation)
Analyze data and manage territory to proactively target high prescribing physicians
Use functional and technical knowledge of Vertical products, healthcare, managed care, and customer markets to meet or exceed customer needs
Determine the appropriate strategic approach to gain access and acceptance for all Vertical products
Actively participate in scheduled Company meetings, including but not limited to district and national conference calls, national sales meetings, and other business meetings
Travel within the territory for normal business and outside territory for other business events (business meetings, trade shows, etc.)
Demonstrate high ethical and professional standards at all times
Abide by the Corporate Code of Conduct and Business Ethics and all Company policies and procedures
Adhere to all administrative requirements, including but not limited to expense reporting, call reporting, and business planning
Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. A focus in biological science or related discipline preferred
2+ of pharmaceutical sales experience required. Experience in a professional, quota-driven sales role will be considered.
Strong proficiency in developing and maintaining positive, ethical customer relationships
Demonstrated ability to adapt approach to meet and exceed business objectives when faced with challenges or customer concerns
Track record of sustained high performance in current or previous positions and strong aptitude for learning
Outstanding business acumen, analytical skills, and ability to understand market opportunities

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment
Experience in planning, organization, and project management, including creating and executing business plans

Knowledge of the business and market in the assigned territory preferred
Proficient computer skills, including MS Office, sales database and web-based applications
Ability to travel as required, which may include overnight and/or weekend travel
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds
